海外でのライブ、数々のロックフェスティバルへの出演や海外アーティストと共演した経験を持ち、主にヘヴィ・ラウドミュージックリスナーから支持されているバンド。 ハードコア/メタルコア要素を軸にキャッチーかつユニークなメロディーを織り交ぜた『クリスタル節』は聞くものを魅了する。ストレートな歌詞は心を驚握みにし、思わず拳を挙げてしまうだろう。またエナジー/パッションに満ち溢れた爆発力のあるライブパフォーマンスは明らかに群を抜いており、共演してきた海外アーティストをも唸らせている。
2002年東京にて結成。2006年7月に1stアルバム「Dimension」を発売。2007年11月全世界同時に行われたウェブ投票「ERNIE BALL Battle of the Bands」にて獲得票数が1位となりRockstar Taste of Chaos in Japan 2007へオープニングアクトとして出演し話題となる。また翌2008年にも同フェスティバルへ出演。2010年11月、2ndアルバム「Into The Great Beyond」を発売するも、その後メンバーチェンジを経験することとなる。
2012年7月、新ヴォーカリストとしてRYOの加入を発表。新体制となり初の海外ミックス/マスタリング作業を経て、9月に発売された1stシングル「The Fire Inside / Overcome」はバンド史上最もクオリティの高い作品に仕上がり、その楽曲は各方面で話題を呼んだ。2013年になるとライブ活動に焦点を当て、ジャンル関係なく様々なアーティストとステージをシェアして活動の幅を広げた。2014年3月REDLINE Beginning Tour 2014、4月MONSTER ENERGY OUTBURN TOUR 2014へ出演した。同年8月に「CUBES」EPを全国流通でリリース。 「CUBES」の爆発的なロングヒットにより、瞬く間に知名度をあげていく。11月にはKNOTFEST JAPAN 2014へ出演し、2万人ものオーディエンスに対してエンターテイメント溢れるパフォーマンスで魅了する。さらに勢いを加速し、12月にはスプリットアルバム「REDLINE RIOT!!」をリリースし全国ツアーを敢行。各地軒並みSOLD OUTを打ち出す。
2015年3月OUTBURN TOUR2015ではFACTと共にHEADLINERとして全国ツアーを行った。その後、SUMMER SONIC 2015へ初出演。10月に3rd Album「THE SIGN」をリリース。本作品から海外レーベルArtery Recordings (USA)、JPU Records (UK/EU)、Halfcut Records/Shock Records (AUS)、Dope Records (KOREA)とも契約。OZZFEST JAPAN 2015へ出演。その後THE SIGN TOURの東名阪公演へオーストラリアからIN HEARTS WAKEをゲストに招聘し、THE SIGN TOUR最終日恵比寿LIQUIDROOM公演をSOLD OUTさせた。年末にはMERRY ROCK PARADE 2015、COUNTDOWN JAPAN 15/16へ初出演しオーディエンスを魅了した。
2016年2月から異種格闘技をコンセプトとした2MANツアーCHAMPIONSHIP TOUR 2016を開催。ツアーファイナルは赤坂BLITZにて行った。ツアー直後からNEWアルバムの制作に突入。VIVA LA ROCK 2016へ、SATANIC CARNIVAL 16、ROCK IN JAPAN 2016、SUMMER SONIC 2016などのフェスにも出演を果たした。9月にはSHADOWSの初全国ツアーへ全公演帯同。KNOTFEST JAPAN 2016へ出演。その後バンド史上初のMV撮影をアメリカNew Yorkにて行った。11月、台湾のHEART TOWN FESTIVALへ2年連続出演。11月30日、満を持して4枚目のアルバム「True North」発売。同時にアメリカのバンド「Good Charlotte」マッデン兄弟が運営するマネジメント会社MDDNと日本人アーティスト初のマネジメント契約を果たした。海外レーベルに関しては、前回の「The Sign」に続きArtery Recordings (USA)、JPU Records (UK/EU)、また韓国に関してはJaco Records (KOREA)からリリースされた。「True North」はオリコンインディーズウィークリーチャート #1を記録。ウィークリーチャートでは #39。また、iTunes METAL ALBUMチャート #6 (USA)、billboard TOP NEW ARTIST #35 (USA)、HARDCHARTS #47 (USA)となった。年末にはCOUNTDOWN JAPAN 16/17へ2年連続出演。
結成15周年を迎えた2017年。1月からAlpha & Omega Tourを対バン形式にて行い、2月からはバンド史上初の全国ワンマンツアーTrue North Oneman Tourを行った。ツアーファイナルの渋谷Tsutaya O-EastはSOLD OUT。3月からTrue North Asia Tourと題して台湾、香港、韓国をヘッドラインで回った。その後Satanic Carnival 2017、Rush Ball 2017、京都大作戦2017、Heartown Festival (台湾)、Pentaport Rock Festival (韓国)などの国内外のフェスへ出演。10月11日、New Single「Apollo」をリリース。3曲目収録のDreamscapeはオーストラリアの若手新鋭プロデューサーPhaseOneによるOmega Remixを収録。発売前に公開されたApollo MVは反響を呼び、現時点で1,000,000再生を突破。そしてCrystal Lake結成15周年記念イベントとして10/21(土) 新木場 Studio CoastにてTrue North Festivalを開催。その翌日にはTrue North Europe Tour 2017の為にヨーロッパへ。5カ国 (イギリス、ドイツ、スイス、オーストリア、フランス)、9公演の初ヨーロッパヘッドラインツアーを敢行。帰国後はポルノ超特急2017、Countdown Japan 17/18へ出演。
2018年。2017年の国内外のツアーを経て2月に東名阪CLUB QUATTROにてHyperspace Tour 2018の開催。ゲストにはアメリカからATTILAを招き2MANツアーとして行い全公演SOLD OUT。5月にはフィリピン最大の音楽フェスPULP SUMMER SLAM 2018へ出演。また6月末から約1ヶ月間イギリス・ヨーロッパでヘッドラインツアーをはじめ8つの音楽フェスに出演し大成功させた。TECH-FEST 2018 (イギリス), JERA ON AIR 2018 (オランダ), ROCK DEN SEE 2018 (オーストリア), RESURRECTION FEST 2018 (スペイン), FAJTFEST 2018 (チェコ), DISSONANCE FESTIVAL 2018 (イタリア), JAPAN EXPO 2018 (フランス), FREE & EASY FESTIVAL 2018 (ドイツ)。8月8日にNEWシングル「THE CIRCLE」を発売する。タイトルトラックの「The Circle」にはcoldrainのMasatoが、2曲目「Lost In Forever」にはアメリカのGideonよりDanielとTylerがゲスト参加。3曲目「True North」はEuphoric WavismがRemixを担当し収録されている。今年も昨年に引き続き「TRUE NORTH FESTIVAL 2018」の開催し、ERRA (アメリカ), Make Them Suffer (オーストラリア), Aviana (スウェーデン) などゲストに招き大成功させた。11月からBURY TOMORROW (イギリス)のヨーロッパツアーへ、36 Crazyfists (アメリカ)、Cane Hill (アメリカ)と全公演帯同した。New Album "HELIX"をCube Records / JMSより発売。同時にアメリカのレコード会社SharpTone Recordsとの契約を発表された。アメリカ盤HELIXの発売は2019年2月15日。
2019年。年明けからHELIX ONEMAN JAPAN TOUR 2019と題して東名阪のワンマンツアーを敢行。初日の赤坂BLITZ公演はSOLD OUT。その後、August Burns Red "The Dangerous Tour 2019" へ全公演帯同する初のアメリカツアーを行っている。Fit For A King、Miss May Iと共に北米全箇所32公演帯同中。
FORMATION - 2002
Crystal Lake started out in the summer of 2002, heavily influenced by mid-90’s hardcore, we prepared to make impact on the Tokyo hardcore scene. Late 2002 saw the search for a new singer, but by January 2003 they had settled with current line up and were one again ready to go.
2003 saw a busy year, with two tours, including South Korea, and three releases. The demo “Freewill” was released in February in time for the show in South Korea which we were invited to by Gmc Records. A second demo “One Word Changes Everything” came out in July, and a self released 4 track EP, also entitled “Freewill” was released in September, 1000copies were made and sold. September 2003 also saw Crystal Lake play 5 shows with Day Of Contempt (Australia).
In 2005 the band released a split CD with Risen (USA) & Unboy and also toured in Malaysia.
DIMENSION - 2006
The 1st album “Dimension” was released on 5th July 2006! it is released by Imperium Recordings. Since the release of the album, we have done the “Dimension Tour”, which was received well by kids from all over Japan who love to go wild to Crystal Lake savage technical breed of hardcore.
Crystal Lake performed at “Metal Presentation 2007” with I Killed The Prom Queen (Australia) and Chthonic (Taiwan) on February , “Hatebreed (USA) Japan Tour 2007” on March and “Rockstar Taste Of Chaos 2007 in Japan” on November.
DAYLIGHT & INTO THE GREAT BEYOND - 2008-2011
Crystal Lake / Cleave split CD was released on 24th May 2008. Crystal Lake performed at “Rockstar Taste Of Chaos 2008 in Japan” on November.
January 2009 also saw Crystal Lake play 5 shows with Parkway Drive (Australia) and Shai Hulud (USA).
The 2nd album “Into The Great Beyond” out November 3, 2010.
On Jun 2011, originally vocalist Kentaro leaves the band.
LINEUP CHANGE. THE FIRE INSIDE / OVERCOME - 2012-2013
On Mar, originally drummer Yusuke leaves the band.
We announced new vocalist Ryo on July. “Today, we are pleased to announce the newest addition to the Crystal Lake Family, please give a warm welcome the new vocalist Ryo”. Next day they announced support drummer Gaku. We released single “The Fire Inside / Overcome” on Sep 5. Mixed and Mastered by Brian Hood at 456 Recordings.
January 2013 also saw Crystal Lake toured with As Blood Runs Black (USA) and Confession (Australia). On May, 2013 they toured with The Ghost Inside. After that we shared the stage with Emmure (USA) and toured across Japan on the Sumerian Tour 2013 with Born of Osiris (USA), Upon A Burning Body (USA).
CUBES - 2014
On Feb 9, 2014 we played on the Scream Out Fest 2014 with The Devil Wears Prada, Periphery, The Word Alive at Studio Coast Tokyo. On Apr 12, 2014 we played on the Monster Energy Outburn Tour 2014 with coldrain, Crossfaith, and Miss May I at Sapporo.
On Aug 6, we released ”Cubes - EP” through Cube Records. Cubes debuted at #5 on the Oricon (Japanese music chart) indie weekly album chart, #27 on the Orican daily album chart, #45 on the Orican weekly album chart.
On Sep 1-9, we toured on the Crossfaith - Across The Future Tour with Crossfaith, We Came As Romans, and While She Sleeps.
On Oct 25, we started own tour “Cubes Tour 2014”. On Nov 15, we appeared on the Knotfest Japan 2014 day 1. On Dec 14, Cubes Tour 2014 Tour Final (Sold Out).
THE SIGN - 2015
On Mar 2-23, we played on the Monster Energy Outburn Tour 2015 with FACT. On August, we appeared at Summer Sonic 2015.
On Oct 7, we released 3rd album ”The Sign” through Cube Records. Also, we’ve signed with overseas labels: Artery Recordings (USA), JPU Records (UK/EU), Halfcut Records/Shock Records (Australia) and Dope Records (South Korea). The Sign debuted at #36 on the Oricon weekly album chart. On Nov, we appeared at the Ozzfest Japan 2015. We invited In Hearts Wake (Australia) for the Japan tour on Dec. After that, we performed at the Countdown Japan 15/16.
TRUE NORTH - 2016
On Feb, we started new concept tour Championship Tour 2016.
We performed many summer festivals: Viva La Rock 2016, Satanic Carnival '16, Rock In Japan 2016, Summer Sonic 2016, Dead Pop Festival 2016, and Knotfest Japan 2016.
We released 4th album "True North" through Cube Records / JMS. Also, we re-signed with overseas labels: Artery Recordings (USA), JPU Records (UK/EU), and signed with Jaco Records (South Korea). True North debuted at #1 on the Oricon weekly Indie chart and #39 on the weekly album chart. Also, #6 on the iTunes Metal Chart (USA), #35 on the billboard Top New Artist (USA), #47 on the Hardcharts (USA). After that, we performed at the Countdown Japan 16/17.
APOLLO / ASIA TOUR / 15TH ANNIVERSARY / EUROPE TOUR - 2017
On Jan, we started "Alpha & Omega Tour" with some guest bands. After that we started “True North Oneman Tour”. Tour final show at Tsutaya O-East Tokyo, it was sold out.
On Mar, we started "True North Asia Tour 2017". It's touring in Taiwan, South Korea and Hong Kong.
We played Japanese summer festivals “Mission Impossible Kyoto 2017, Rush Ball 2017, Satanic Carnival 2017” and many more. We went to Taiwan “Heartown Festival” with ISSUES (USA) and South Korea “Pentaport Rock Festival 2017”.
On Oct 11, we released the single “APOLLO” via Cube Records / JMS. It’s included PhaseOne (Australia) remix.
We organized very first own festival called “True North Festival” on Oct 21 at Studio Coast Tokyo. That was Crystal Lake 15th anniversary show. We invited 15 guest bands (domestic / oversea) in this festival. Fit For A King (USA), coldrain etc.
We went to UK / Europe for the first headline tour. 5 countries (United Kingdom, Germany, Switzerland, Austria, and France), 9 shows with special guests Aviana (Sweden) and ALL FACES DOWN (Austria). It’s included OUR HOLLOW, OUR HOME’s Halloween show “HOLLOWEEN” and “MORECORE FESTIVAL 2017”.
On Dec, we performed at the Porno Ultra Express 2017 and Countdown Japan 17/18.
THE CIRCLE / HELIX - 2018
On Feb 21 - 23, We started “Hyperspace Tour 2018” in Japan with ATTILA (USA).
We played at PULP SUMMER SLAM 2018 (Philippines). After that, we went to UK / Europe headline tour. 10 countries (United Kingdom, Germany, Switzerland, Austria, France, Netherlands, Czech Republic, Spain, Portugal, and Italy), 18 shows and 7 festivals: TECH-FEST 2018 (United Kingdom), JERA ON AIR 2018 (Netherlands), ROCK DEN SEE 2018 (Austria), RESURRECTION FEST 2018 (Spain) and FAJTFEST 2018 (Czech Republic). Also, we toured with ADEPT (Sweden), Awake The Dreamer (Sweden) and more guest bands.
We announced the single called “THE CIRCLE” on Aug 8 via Cube Records / JMS. Track1 - “The Circle” feat. Masato (coldrain), Track2 - “Lost In Forever” feat. Daniel and Tyler (Gideon / USA), Track3 - “True North” remixed by Euphoric Wavism.
We organized “True North Festival 2018” on Sep 16 at Studio Coast Tokyo. After that, we did first China Tour.
We released the new album called “HELIX” on Nov 28 via Cube Records / JMS (Physical only precedence release in Japan.). Moreover, we have signed new record label with SharpTone Records (USA / Worldwide).
We toured in the UK / Europe for Bury Tomorrow (UK) headline tour with 36 Crazyfists (USA) and Cane Hill (USA) on late Nov between middle Dec.
We announced our very first U.S. tour “Dangerous Tour 2019” with August Burns Red, Fit For A King and Miss May I on Jan 24 to Mar 2. It’s included our 3 headline shows.
HELIX / USA - 2019
We announced the first tour of 2019 “HELIX ONEMAN JAPAN TOUR 2019”. After that, we will be going to the U.S. tour “Dangerous Tour 2019” with August Burns Red, Fit For A King and Miss May I on Jan 24 to Mar 2. It’s included our 3 headline shows. Also, we’ll be going to Russia and Sweden with ADEPT (Sweden).
We already announced some Europe summer festivals: RESURRECTION FEST 2019 (Spain), JERA ON AIR 2019 (Netherlands).
